Animal Randomizer

About

A small, independent tool, built and maintained by Rai Ansar. One person, no company behind it.

Published . Last updated .

Why it exists

Existing random animal tools spin one animal at a time, and none of them let you take the result away. If you need one different animal for each child in a class, you end up writing names down by hand and checking for duplicates yourself.

This tool does that one job properly: a whole batch at once, no duplicates, and a copy or download button. It also publishes the whole catalog it draws from, with a version number and a written scope, so you can check it before you put it in front of a class.

What it is not

  • Not a biodiversity database. The catalog holds 448 animals, chosen to be recognisable, not to be complete.
  • Not a species identification tool.
  • Not staffed by a team. There is no editorial board and no panel of experts.

Funding

The site carries no advertising at catalog v1.2.1. As an Amazon Associate, Animal Randomizer earns from qualifying purchases; where a guide links to Amazon, that link is labelled as an affiliate link, at no extra cost to you.

If advertising is added later, this page will say so before it appears, and the tool will keep working without it.

Contact

The site is run by Rai Ansar. Corrections to the catalog are welcome, especially a wrong group label or two names for the same animal. The 2026-09-22 release removed one of those: the catalog held both “common carp” and “koi”, which are the same animal.
