12 of the 449 animals in catalog v1.2.0 carry a photograph. Every one is listed below with the creator, the licence, a link to the original record, and what was changed. Nothing here is a stock image and nothing was generated.

How these were chosen

  1. Take the photograph from Wikimedia Commons.
  2. Record the creator, the licence and the original file page.
  3. Reject any file whose licence does not permit reuse and change.
  4. Scale the file and convert it, then record what was changed.
  5. Store a checksum so the served file can be matched to the source.
