What this draws from

This is a separate catalog from the six-group animal generator on this site. That catalog names dog breeds an explicit exclusion, because a breed is not a separate animal and mixing breeds into an animal batch would skew it. This page draws only from a dedicated list of 297 dog breed names, captured from the American Kennel Club's breed directory on 2026-09-26.

Every name listed on AKC's breed selector: AKC-recognized breeds, the Miscellaneous Class, and Foundation Stock Service breeds together. The source does not label which of the three a given name belongs to, so this catalog does not either. No breed facts, sizes or temperaments are shown here: names only, checkable against each breed's own AKC page in the full list below.
