What this draws from
“Bug” is not a formal group in this catalog. “Bug” here means the catalog’s invertebrate group: 90 animals with no backbone, which covers insects and spiders as well as snails, sea stars and other animals a biology class would not usually call a bug. This page draws from that whole group, not a narrower insects-only list, and says so rather than quietly redefining “bug” to mean “insect.”
